Let's hear it for the girls!

G'day crafty friends,

It's challenge time over at The Squirrel and The Fox and this fortnight our theme is "Let's hear it for the girls!" In celebration on Tracey, the fox half, and my, the squirrel half of The Squirrel and The Fox, Birthdays!! It's hard to believe that Tracey and I have celebrated 28 birthdays together, friends since we were 11 (wow, makes me feel old!!)

We are celebrating with our fantastic sponsor Make it Crafty, who is offering our lucky winner a $15AUD voucher to spend in her store. I was lucky to be able to pick a MIC image to work with for this challenge and here is what I came up with;

I have coloured her in with my Copics, added some ribbon and a little enamel charm from my stash, some bling. The scalloped die around the sentiment was done with my big shot, the die cut swirls are SU as is the hand stamped sentiment.

Until next time,
happy crafting!

Angles & Fairies

G'day crafty friends,

It's challenge time! Today it's Team A's time to create for a new challenge over at Brown Sugar and we have a super cute theme for you - Angels and Fairies. Once again we were lucky to be provided with images to create with, I went with this sweet little angle "Annie" by Digi Darla - isn't she a cutie?

 I have coloured the image in with my copics, used a circle die and scollop die to cut and frame the image. The sentiment was created by me, the card stock and brads are SU and the DP is from my stash! I have not added much to this card as I felt it may take away from the sweet simplicity of the image.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges;

Moving along with the times - CAS

Until next time, happy crafting!

G'Day crafty friends!

It is time for another challenge over at The Squirrel and The Fox, and this fortnight we are celebrating Mothers Day. That's right, we want to see all your mothers day creations.

This fortnights sponsor is Pink Cat Studio, and the DT was given the opportunity to create with one of their digi stamps. Here I have use one of their sweet little digi's, coloured it with my Copics, added some DP (I love the colours in this DP) and used some new cardstock I found at my local craft stall, I just love this printed cardstock - all swirly and pretty. I have punched the edge with a SU punch, added some SU ribbon and bow. The sentiment was created by me and the bling is from my stash.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges;

Bunnies @ Brown Sugar

G'Day Crafty friends,
It is time for another challenge over at Brown Sugar, and this weeks theme in BUNNIES. How cute right? I just love bunnies.

This weeks sponsor is QKR Stampede, and I was fortunate enough to be able to use one of their bunny images to create with. I thought I would go with a masculine theme this time, as I seem to have quite a collection of female cards and really do need to stock up on some men's cards! I have coloured the image in with my Copics, the brown cardstock is from my stash and I have embossed this with my Big Shot, the swirls are die cut SU, again using my big shot, the leaves are from my stash and the sentiment and ribbon is SU.

I used the following sketch from Seize the Birthday as insperation for this layout:

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges;

Seize the Birthday - #15

Happy Hollywood Birthday!

G'day crafters,

Today I am sharing with you a card I was commissioned to make. My work friend has been invited to a fancy dress 30th Birthday Party and the theme is to dress as someone who has a star on the Hollywood walk of fame. My friend is going as Marilyn Monroe and I instantly thought of the fab Blond Bombshell digi stamp by KennyK. Then I remembered seeing a background stamp and Make it Crafty that would fit in perfectly, Hollywood Stars Sidewalk.

This is the first time I have used a background stamp, and I am really happy with it. This card fits the birthday girls party theme to a tee! I have coloured the images in with my Copics, sponged around the edges of the background stamp and added a piece of DP that I boarder punched to the top & bottom for some contrast against the background DP (both DP's are by SU). I cut out the Blond Bombshell stamp and mounted it on dimensionals for a 3D effect. The sentiment was created by me and for the finishing touch I used a piece of ribbon from my stash and tied a little shoe charm to it with some hemp string.

Furry Friends

G'Day crafty friends,

Wow, I can feel winter creeping into Canberra today - brrrr getting cold!

It's time for a new challenge over at The Squirrel and The Fox and this fornights theme is FURRY FRIENDS! Maybe I need some fur to keep me warm too.

This challenge is sponsored by Ellephantastic who were kind enough to supply our DT some images to work with. I just could not go past this little guy he looks so cute in his plane. I have coloured him in with my Copics, cut him out and attached his little banner behind him which was cut freehand, both have been raised up on dimentionals. The sentiment his half of a SU sentiment stamp, the DP was from my stash so I coloured the image to match. The ribbon and cardstock is SU and the brads are from my stash.

Di's Digi Designs - Bears

Getting ready for Mothers Day

G'Day my crafting friends,

Well I am sure you will all see a few posts for me over the coming days. My blood pressure is high due to stress so the doctor as ordered me to rest, relax and do something I enjoy - so basically I am crafting under doctors orders and no I can't do housework, cause it is not relaxing and I don't enjoy it!

So, I though I would take this opportunity to replenish my card stash and with Mothers Day coming up I thought that would be a good place to start.

Here is a card that was inspired by some DP I found at my local craft shop. I already had this fab Make it Crafty digi stamp I love the retro chick carrying a tray of cookies, and bought the paper with it in mind. I have coloured the image with Copics, sponges the edges of the paper and added a bit of ribbon and a charm from my stash. The sentiment is made by me and can be found on my freebie page.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges;

Digi Makeover Challenge - Girly
Fashionista Challenge - Mothers Day
Card Caravan - Colour Challenge

The Perfect Sentiment - Sweet Treats

Until next time, happy crafting!

Wedding Bells

G'Day Crafters,

I have a commissioned wedding card to share with you today. My brief was include some dark purple! I tried to do this in a way that was not too all over purple if that makes sense, as I did not want to detract from the wedding type feel of the card.

Anyway, I used this sweet digi stamp from Tiddly Inks, cooured it with my Copics. The DP is SU and I have distressed the edges, the sentiment was created by me and can be found on my freebie page, the brad is from my stash and the touch of purple comes from an offcut of material from the curtains in my daughters room. The die cut swirl was done on my Big Shot using a SU die.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges;

Created with Love - Recycle/Reuse (purple curtain offcut)
Crafting when we can - At the movies (The Wedding Singer)
Moving along with the times - Inspired by a song or film (The Wedding Singer)
Tiddly Inks Challenge - Distress, Emboss or Stitch (Distress)

Until next time, happy crafting!
